Choose to be happy
We too often live our lives caught up in our daily grind, the early morning rises, the dashing off to work or hurrying the children to school, the chores, the demands all never-ending.
But, would you believe me, if I told you that Being Happy was as simple as choosing to Be Happy?
We are faced with choices almost every single moment of every single day. More often that not, we have become so ingrained in our routines that we even forget that we have these choices. But if we become aware of them, we can make the more positive choice most of the time, if not all the time.
From the moment you awake, do you greet each day with a feeling of excitement of all the possibilities to come or do you feel the seemingly inescapable drudgery sapping your energy from the moment you open your eyes?
Remember, Choice!
It may not be easy at first, and you may have to keep reminding yourself.
But if you choose to look forward to each day, you will find that it lifts your energy no end.
Instead of listening to the news, put on your favourite music.
Smile and find something good to say about your partner and children.
They too are trying their best, even if their best sometimes does not seem enough.
As your get in your car to drive to work, or the children to school, marvel at the wonder of each new day.
Whether it is raining or the sun is shining, it is a new day with endless possibilities all the same.
If someone hurts you, whether unintentionally or otherwise, take a deep breath, smile and turn the other way.
It’s never worth letting someone else ruin a perfectly good day.
You can choose to do that all by yourself but remember choose to be happy.
And remind yourself throughout the day, being happy is a choice.
Choose well and Be Happy.

Thanks for sharing Li-ling! Probably the secret to happiness and everything else in our life is our power to choose. Unfortunately, most of us grow up, like you say, having lost the belief in the power of choices. Choice is our key to creating and living the life we desire.
I am looking forward to keeping up with your writing and inspiration. Malaysians unite! 🙂
